Hi everyone, I am so excited to share our progress this week, thanks for reading!
If you are new this week, Mathew Lanning and I have been working on an album and song book for the past 7 weeks. Mathew arranged songs for flute and piano from the Legend of Zelda video game series, which we have started recording. I have been editing our recordings and we will be releasing as an album soon!
This week, we recorded "Fairy Fountain," "Midna's Lament," and "Gerudo Valley." Mathew recorded first, and then I recorded over the piano part.
Some of the challenges for this week was just lining up some of the rhythms and creating a sound that fits each song. Each song can not be played the same way because they are from different games in the series and from different points in the game. Because of that, it feels like I just get comfortable with the song as soon as I finish the recording. Some songa may need more energy, like "Gerudo Valley" while "Midna's Lament" needed a sad, yet innocent sound. It can sometimes be difficult to not overdo a more sad song too, which was what I had problems with this week.
We will be finishing up recording next week, and then editing and releasing the album soon after that!
