Update 6

Hi, thanks so much for following these updates; I'm so excited to share our progress this week!

If you are new this week, Mathew Lanning and I are arranging and recording an album of songs from the "Legend of Zelda" video games. We will be releasing an album and a song book from the arrangements and recordings we created at the end of these eight weeks! All the parts have been arranged, and we began recording this week and even have included some parts of what we have recorded so far.

This week, we began recording for our album and it was so exciting to finally get to see everything come together. We recorded "Clock Town," "Clock Tower," and "Hyrule Field." First the piano part was recorded by Mathew, and then I recorded the flute part on top of those.

Recording can be a really fun, yet frustrating process. My biggest difficulties are usually knowing what I want the recording to sound like, but figuring out how to get that exact entrance or sound can be very frustrating. It's a lot of experimenting before finally getting exactly what I want, but I always think the end result is completely worth it!

The biggest issues I had were actually playing entrances for "Clock Tower," and playing some of the rhythms for "Hyrule Field." I had a few takes where I finally played everything right and then cracked a note which can get pretty annoying, or I realized I never actually hit record and was just playing back the song. It's really a fun process overall though and I'm really excited to work on some more recordings soon!

Next week, we will be recording three more pieces and editing what we already have done, we are so excited to start working on it and to share our progress!
